I started drawing just before I entered high school, thinking it was already too late for me to ever become an artist. I'd spent years intentionally not drawing because my older sister and best friend were really skilled and way ahead of me. However, when I started watching MLP, the lively artistic community around it finally got me excited enough about something to get me over my fear and start drawing! I spent a few years drawing ponies before I got sucked into species groups here on dA (with Skywalkers and Evoloons being the groups I was most active in :>).

I spent my first two years of university studying research psychology, idly musing that I should become an artist... in the way people joke they'll run away to join the circus. However, in 2019 I stumbled across the artist Dina Norlund on YouTube. Her delightful creature designs and supportive community convinced me to make the leap and switch to studying art and try to make a career of it! I studied art for my last two years of university, and now I'm making art daily to hopefully scrape out a little corner of the internet to support myself on. :>

tl;dr- It's really never too late to start drawing. I've been drawing for more than 8 years, and I already thought it was too late when I started in my mid-teens. You have what it takes, as long as you're excited enough about what you're doing to keep drawing. ;p
